About the Journal

Jurnal Sophist (P-ISSN: 2656-1220 E-ISSN: 2745-8571) is an open-access journal with peer-reviewed principles published twice a year (June and December) by Fakultas Ushuluddin dan Studi Agama Universitas Islam Negeri Mataram. Sophist offering a new paradigm for rebuilding the relation between science and religion. Using the ‘Horizon Ilmu’ approach, a scientific tradition promoted by UIN Mataram, Sophist provides the implementation of integration-interconnection and internalization between interdisiplinary studies.

 



Focus And Scope

Sophist: Jurnal Sosial Politik, Kajian Islam dan Tafsir (P-ISSN: 2656-1220 E-ISSN: 2745-8571) is a journal that provides open access with peer-review principles published twice a year (June and December) by Fakultas Ushuluddin dan Studi Agama (FUSA) UIN Mataram . Sophist aims to publish and promote integrative-interconnection ideas in the form of: (1) Comparative-collaborative studies on Islamic themes, (2) Social and Political Studies, (3) Study of The verses of the Koran with (4) political ethics , (5) Sociological approach in reading the Koran, and (6) Islamic Political Thought (study of governance under the influence of Islamic values).

Journal History

The Sophist Journal was first published in 2018, by issuing two editions. In 2019, the Sophist Journal did not lead the issue and was in a hiatus until mid-2020. Publication continued again in August 2020 with the formation of a different Editor-In-Chief and Editorial Team, with a more competent composition of the Bestari Partner Team (Peer-Reviewer), in order to develop and improve the writing quality of the Sophist Journal.

In Volume 2 Number 1 January - June 2020 Sophist began to republish with a journal, logo, and cover, as well as a different template arrangement from the previous Sophist Volume. Starting from August 2020, Sophist: Journal of Socio-Political Islamic Studies and Tafsir has changed its domain to https://sophist.or.id

Peer Review Process

This journal uses Open Journal Systems 3.1.1.0, which is open source journal management and publishing software developed, supported, and freely distributed by the Public Knowledge Project under the GNU General Public License.

All articles submitted to this online journal are subject to peer-review processes. Jurnal Sophist uses a double-blind reviewer. The accepted  articles will be published online following the journal peer-reviewing process. The final decision whether or not an article is accepted is on the right of the editor-in-chief based on recommendations from the reviewers. The language of this journal is Bahasa (Indonesia), English, and Arabic.

Open Access Policy

Jurnal Sophist provides direct open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

Jurnal Sophist utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
